About
Over one million people around the world during the last half of century have experienced Rolfing. Most clients find their Rolfer by word of mouth. This organic growth created a loyal following of clients. Unfortunately, organic growth hasn’t put the word out to the other millions who could benefit from Rolfing, nor has it connected these clients. RolfHub.com aims to change that.
By using the tools of the web we hope to more than support the growth of Rolfing; we want to support the clients of Rolfing. Wherever you are on the Rolfing continuum, we want to assist you. We realize that there is no other site that truly supports the prospective, current or past clients of Rolfing. This might mean aiding the uninitiated in their initial exploration of Rolfing with Support. We aim to help the people searching for a solution for a problem as simple as finding a local Rolfer or as complex as the mind can imagine. We aim to help those who are getting Rolfed or were Rolfed and who want to support others in their Rolfing with Support. Community is for those want to connect with clients and Rolfers. You can go to this if you are new to Rolfing, a current or past client or if you are a Rolfer. This is where the larger virtual community happens. We encourage you to contribute your questions, answers, and experiences.

I stumbled into Rolfing in the mid 1970s when my roommate gave up his law practice to train as a Rolfer. He argued a persuasive case, so I got Rolfed. I was so impressed with Rolfing, I made a career switch, too, and trained to be a Rolfer myself.
In 1980, I moved to Phoenix, AZ, to open a Rolfing practice. Within a few years, I was operating a holistic clinic employing Rolfers, massage therapists, nutritionists, physicians and others. We carved out a niche treating elite athletes (Olympic runners, professional ball players, college athletes, etc.) and doing research in conjunction with ASU.
After a year off in Northern California, I settled in Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1997. When I am not Rolfing, skiing or hiking I am blogging or starting men’s groups. Sandpoint is a perfect community for my interests. It continues to give a lot to me.
Throughout my years in Arizona and now in Idaho, I created several different organizations which indirectly supported my Rolfing clients. Yet there has never been a specific support system to assist clients through the powerful changes caused by Rolfing. From being Rolfed and being a Rolfer, I could offer a far share of support, but I saw the power of other clients supporting each other. I am excited that, through the web, I can now be a part of having this dream come true.

I have always been skeptical by nature. When I first heard about Rolfing® Structural Integration, I liked what I heard about the goals, but I found it very difficult to find good information about this therapy.
My brother — who had stumbled across a Rolfer’s business card on a bulletin board while on a road trip and had subsequently gone through a ten-series — assured me that the process was worth it, that I would appreciate the investment in myself and relish the results. From ice hockey, roller hockey, snowboarding, tennis, and sitting at a computer all through my formative years, I had accumulated an incredible number of chronic pain and instability issues that I knew could be fixed — if only someone could restore proper balance to the muscular and connective tissues of my body!
I did and do relish the results, and that’s why I’m here. I know that Rolfing can play a very important role helping people maintain their musculoskeletal health.
I am an actively serving member of the Rolf Institute Membership Committee and the Ida P. Rolf Research Foundation Communication Committee. I organize meetings for Rolfers in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I also manage two blogs: StructuralIntegration.info, a reference blog on the science and experience of structural integration and Upright Health, a venue for tips, tricks, and musings on the maintenance of the human machine. In my free time, I’m playing hockey, reading about manual therapy techniques, and trying to pry myself away from the lure of the internet.
Rolfing®, RolfersTM, Rolf Movement PractitionersTM are all owned by the Rolf Institute.
